April’s Pregnancy Dreams

April’s been having some pretty vivid and strange dreams lately. This morning’s was a doozy: The ultrasound at 20 weeks (coming up on March 22!) revealed a zaftig, curly-haired female baby named Margot. (I’m not sure if the wee one was wearing a name tag…).

(This virtually guarantees we will be having a bald svelte boy, says April.)

Evidently, I’m also a huge jerk because I taunt chipmunks and make them bite her. (In her dream, of course. I do not taunt small woodland creatures in real life.) Set your dream-decoders to “parse”, people! Any ideas?

  1. It’s the 18-week ultrasound that’s coming up on March 22nd, dear. Oh, and of course the baby in my dream wasn’t wearing a nametag in my uterus. But she was wearing a little pink dress that showed up on the ultrasound. Dreams are weird.

  2. Wow, I can’t resist this one. There’s two major elements here: the baby Margot, and the woodland taunting/chipmunk biting.

Margot must represent April’s desire to get right to the stage of child-rearing where children wear adorable clothing and have cute curly hair. It’s convenient to have a child born that way. My guess is that Margot would also be born reading at a fifth grade level. ;)

Eric taunting woodland creatures… I like the AquaMan-like ability to command chipmunks, but having them bite April? I’ll guess that’s April’s worry about the details. Look on the bright side though, he could have the ability to command squirrels or raccoons. The fact that they’re chipmunks means they’re a minor nuisance at best.

  3. @Dennis – I don’t know why you think our actual baby *won’t* be born reading at a fifth grade level. That’s certainly my expectation.

  4. I like the name Margot… though it reminds me of the time we were meeting Pat and the Harpy for dinner at Margeaux’s(ie expensive) and not what we thought i.e. Margot’s (hip but reasonably priced).
